Spume is Simon Lord, Melinda Bronstein and Birdie Hamilton,
“When we first got together we were just making a load of weird noises without any particular concept, goal or intent, just playing music for pure enjoyment. When we started writing songs, we found a way of working that retained the organic, uncalculated and largely improvised approach from those first practices, everything's very intuitive, things kind of spume up out of the mush of existence . . .
. . .Practically, Spume is about being kind to each other so that everyone can experiment and not have to second guess themselves, we all brought bits of what we love - elements of psych, stoner, kraut rock, old folk, ‘90s grunge, 70s electronica and early free improv - but without having an idea of what anything's meant to sound like. Lyrically it’s all free association and word play, the idea that if you unload lots of thoughts, images and observations from your everyday life, that a grander meaning bubbles up.”
