The fourth Peace Pipe tape in something like four months, again skirting around the edges of late 20th century electronic music/culture, focusing specifically on dub/ambient techno and adjacent house derivations. At this stage i'm gonna suggest that the specific songs - some you might know, quite a few you might not: it's a deep well from which they draw - are not so much the point as is what they represent. The whole Peace Pipe series is starting to feel like an extended journey through notions of identity, experience, people, places, of memory and time itself. You might call it nostalgia - imagined, borrowed or real - but there's deep roots of cultural history embedded in these rhythms and melodies, some of which are endemic to these isles in what now feels like anachronistically hopeful ways. It's something worth remembering and revisiting.
