Strange how so little of the Boredoms labyrinthian back catalogue was pressed on vinyl - if there's a record crying out for the deluxe boxset treatment it's surely Vision Creation Newsun? Likely due to the preference for CD over vinyl in Japan in the 90s, those that did make it to record were mostly licenses or limited import pressings, which leads us to this haul of deadstock discovered in a much bigger archive of similarly out-there fair. The Super Roots series is intriguing as it appears an attempt to provide wider context for Boredoms somewhat uncharacerisable psych(ic) spiritual noise excess by bringing in collaborators, remixers and, in the case of SR7, allowing a core member to rejig a new vision. It's a great entry point to Boredoms universe in that it displays the endless possibilities contained within their sound, their controls either set for the heart of the sun or the eye of the mind. Sometimes both at the same time. Super limited as you'd expect.
