Mollie presents an aural exploration of the fragility of the self.
"I've been deep in reflection around the notion of self, and how ambiguous that notion is. We present an idea of a fixed self to others, and we have a notion of who 'ourself' is.
Of course, it is ever-evolving, in constant flux, and it is shaped, obscured, disrupted and validated by internal and external forces. Choices, decisions, instinct, desire, regret, jealousy, will, fear, self-loathing, self-obsession, despair, hope, inner peace, inner turmoil, elation, confidence, anarchy, where we think we are in life, where we've been, where we think we ought to be, and the perspectives and actions of others all disrupt and reshape that self at any given moment. Perhaps there is no such thing as a fixed self, but a notion of one, a fractured, unsettled construct. Yet we define ourselves by it. This album is a document of my fragile relationship with my self."
