Single-sided pressing of a Bill Nace and Samara Lubelski (Tower Recordings, Chelsea Light Moving etc) live performance in Brussels in 2019, back when such things still existed. And what a slice of eerie magick it is. Less ecstatic than Nace's recent (& excellent) Both record, the pairing with Lubelski, who has a decent history trading in avant folk aesthetics, seems to open some kind of fourth world portal, a creepy vortex of high pitched violin and textural guitar that the liner notes rightly equate to the palimpsestic sound of Hassell - that whole sound with no origin experience. There's also something in the darkness of Lubelski's playing that reminds me of Astral Disaster period Coil. The opening of the gates of hell? Or just a world upside down? Though recorded last year, it's a fitting portent of the world yet to come... Edition of 200
