Neutrals - Kebab Disco

Neutrals are from Oakland, but as we all know very well, it's not where you're from, it's where you're at. This could be Glasgow (or Melbourne now!) or the Kings Rd way back when or sometimes even maybe Manchester (aka The Fall), not CA. And it might be 2020, but Kebab Disco quite obviously lands in that sweet spot just after that first TV Personalities single and just before C86's fey revolution. DIY powered post-punk jangle drive with a cantankerous tell-all frontman who still sounds utterly smitten with the scene he's certain he's fed up with - "Your favourite band is Kleenex cos they're Swiss" he sings. like it's both a good and a bad thing (love the player hate the game, fella), but then the real story of the band is in the punchline that follows: "we're Neutrals, we're not Swiss". It's a misleading name - Neutrals are anything but neutral. Mostly they're agitated pisstakers with immaculate record collections. There's always a place for that.
