Edition of 500 copies, cut by Rashad Becker. A side play at 33, B side at 45 rpm.
Comatonse mark 30 years in the game with this first-time vinyl edition of sorts of Terre Thaemlitz's visionary debut from 1994. With typical Thaemlitz playfulness, we get just the three tracks here, the masterful 'Hovering Glows' and two additional re-works that reimagine subtle new contexts for one of the most distinct world-builders in electronic music. 'Hovering Glows' is such a rich source text to work from, a seductive, hypnotic soundtrack to the in-between hours that makes high art of the downbeat - think Global Communications painted in the blue light of trip hop. TT shows herself nothing if not aware of their own qualities, and chooses to present both truncated and extended mixes, as if both showing you the centre while also teasing you as to what might be there waiting for you. Endlessly rewarding and supremely underplayed craft. Let's hope that EP 1 suffix is telling of further forthcoming vinyl editions.
