The latest from Dutch label Knekelhuis is a nine track compilation that plays like an International Scene Report of sorts, brining together older and much newer names from the current (mostly) European (mostly) electronic underground. Long-time WOE followers will have their heads turned by the inclusion of a new song by Gothenburg starlets Treasury of Puppies, though they're keeping interesting and diverse company here well worthy of wider investigation. ToP and the Philip Otterbach tracks are about as far as the collection ventures into DIY avant-pop territory, instead mainly exploring ambient abstrations, vocal samples and synth-y drone. Fittingly, Avsluta's contribution is entitled 'Mono No Aware', and as a whole And Felt Like bears a clear debt to that landmark PAN compilation of the same name, existing in that same highly modern, self-sufficient, avant-minded space which sees all sorts of electronic expressions and diversions collapse into one another. It's a rich scene out there. Like with i stumble and i fall, that tape on Left Alone, the Kashual Plastik comps and now this, we need more of this kind of thing to keep shining a light on the world just beneath our feet.
