Warehouse find!
"2009 debut lp recently uncovered. Seeing as how it's now 2024, I can't imagine anyone reading this who'd be unfamiliar with the juggernaut that is Tyvek. But 15 yrs ago, maybe a different story. This lp followed a spate of near perfect 7" records & this lp was highly anticipated. With the inclusion of Damon Teets (he of Puffy Areolas), the bands "signature", Urinals-meets-Mekons charge suddenly took on a Velvets-by-way-of-The Feelies flanking maneuver. Over the years the gems have become refined, but this is the motherlode that helped start the legend.
Also, back then, the jacket art seemed to alienate factions of so-called fans. I recall similar simpering yrs before with the Birthday Party's 'Junkyard' Big Daddy Roth cover. Which just goes to prove everyone has the right be be wrong, especially the feckless. Don't be one of them. Very last copies." Siltbreeze
