Alternative-artwork re-press of one of the year's biggest curveballs, from the J-noise kings of sub/perversion. Imagined as an ode to Tokyo's deepest, yet least used, underground trainline, Uguisudani Apocalypse is a pure expression of the industrial avant garde in its compelling urge to avoid convention or formula. And to generally just fuck with your head by not being very industrial at all. Where it starts is not where it ends, which I suppose is the whole point of a trainline. Opening with an almost lounge act pastiche, it swiftly runs through Tokyo Flashback-style flamers, Fritz the Cat hokey jazz and 70s disco sleaze. If this is all going on deep underground in Japan, I'm packing my leather chaps and getting on the first flight tonight. The Gerogerigegege, as always, wanna fuck things up. Wonderful bastards.
