Nearly any original pressing that carries a Cat's Miaow association seems to now be in high demand, so it's a real bonus to have here both the Melbourne Holiday four song compilation that features the hit-to-the-chest fuzz-jangle genius of 'I Hate Myself More Than You Do', alongside three other acts from their close-knit orbit (TCM's Andrew Withycome recorded Super Falling Star, and Stinky Fire Engine ran Toytown, the label that issued TCM's early cassettes). The Bart of The Bart and Friends 7\" is, of course, Bart Cummings, and he heads up solo the typically heart-breaking opener, and is joined by Pam Berry (no introduction necessary) and the rest of TCM on the other two tracks, one of which is a gorgeous cover of 'Blue Moon'. If you're looking for the connecting bridge between Songs '94-'96 and The Shapiros, this is the one for you.
