Debut release on a label I wont ever try to pronounce (it's the umlauts) collecting together demos and live recordings by the equally unpronounceable Sporten Är Död, an early 80s Swedish post-punk outfit said to have been inspired by The Raincoats, Swell Maps, Liliput... all the greats. And sure enough, that's what it sounds like. But then also not quite. There's the same thrilling energy, but also a louche wonkiness that makes it all seem just that little more effortless and off the cuff. All one-take magic and youthful fizz. Only thing they ever recorded, and the lack of cynicism is palpable. Being in love with an idea and running with it. Never not compelling.
300 copies pressed, so sehr limited, be quick etc. Includes a 12-page booklet with lots of unseen photos (which i'm guessing is most photos of this band) and liner notes.
