FELT follow the release of that excellent Civilistjävel! LP with this reissue of a Sons of Slough EP from 2001, a time-stamped four tracker of punchy electro that's as proficient as its personnel suggests it might be - indeed, SoS is the duo of Tici Taci founder Duncan Gray and one Ian Weatherall, brother of Andy. As you might expect from the involvement of a Weatherall, there's a keen eye for detail on display, drawing heavily on the Detroit godheads (Drexciya especially) and adding both a bit of industrial heft and acid flex. A bit of a time capsule of the era no doubt, though one well worth digging up for the glint of the devil in its eye, its analogue construction lending a refreshingly physical touch that feels smartly brash, brazen and dancefloor ready, then and likely still now. Convivial it could be, congenial most certainly not. Big switch up from Felt from the Civilistjävel! record, but one that puts a marker down for the beginnings of a broadly focused imprint.
