Shackleton w/Anika - Behind the Glass

Thrilled to have located a few copies of what I consider to be Shackleton and Anika's much overlooked masterpiece from 2017. Four long-form pieces spread over more than 60 minutes which marries Shackleton's avant dub explorations with Anika's bewitching nursery rhyme existentialism into a submerged ode to the horror of the countryside. Like an underwater Current 93 fronted by Nico? Hey, there's worse ways to describe something! Maybe it was born in the wrong time - all of three years ago! - or maybe it was overshadowed by the other Shackleton vocal collaborations, but this certainly sounds ever vital now given the current (much deserved) love for the neo-folk/ethno-industrial/dubwise excursions of Brannten Schnure, Kallista Kult et al. An absolutely essential record, as relevant to the future yet to come as anything else you're likely to hear this year.
