Properly Australian ramshackle DIY art pop from Brisbane's Scrabbled, a semi-active collective who appear to have tragically lost a few key members since the album was recorded. It's a bittersweet affair as a consequence, charged with both the energy of self-determination and lost possibilities. Like Garbage and the Flowers before them, there's a clear reverence for the avant melodicism of early Velvets, and shot through with that classic second wave influence of prime Siltbreeze - think Jim Shepard, Pink Reason, a bit of Dead C, more recently Puppetwipes perhaps. A little loose, certainly strung out and heat damaged to a state of delirium. You get the idea and, of course, the idea is an eternal one.
