Heavyweight triple LP debut from Rue Des Garderies, the two-person outfit of Zacherie Toutai and Desire Bonaventure, a pair of producers with a 15+ year history in the French underground. Clocking in at just under 100 minutes, you need experience to pull off an experiment of this magnitude, and the duo display their craft well, improvising a one-take journey into dub techno, ambient, drone and IDM that's almost overwhelming on first listen. Though a little more ethereal than propulsive, the spontaneous nature of the recordings share some kinship with Gottsching's E2-4, and there's a clear love for the early 90s UK bedroom producer underground - think EMU, Sinoesin, Future Sound of London. It's at it's best, however, when it moves into zoned-out fourth world territory, Hassell or Jorge Reyes trapped between rooms in the afterhours, all purgatorial out-of-body bliss. Kinda wild to introduce yourself to the world with a three disc of vapourous fourth drift... but then again, there are ten different cloud types and Toutai and Bonaventure appear to be set on capturing them all.
