Following the essential reissue of the debut album at the start of the year (back in stock FYI), Ampoule continues their Pub flex with their latest 12", which is most notable for featuring a brand new song. Summer dates back to 2000, a 16 minute lowkey odyssey of murky tech house that also suggests more than a little Manuel Gottsching affinity, and remains as fresh as the day it was born. At a comparatively meagre sub 12 minutes, Fragile Root recalls a little more of the IDM leanings that characterised Do You Remember Pantomine?, before switching into a hazy dub coda. Whatever magic was there back in 2000 is still percolating nicely now. I was gonna make a joke about pubs closing in Scotland but this one being as wide open and inviting as ever, but i don't bother with shit like that.
