Two tracks from Priori's very decent This But More LP from 2024 get the Brian Leeds Loidis treatment and the heat turned up a more than fair amount. If This But More was West Mineral-adjacent in its overall feel and approach - dubbed-out, gauzy, certainly cerebral - then what Leeds does here is guide it back towards the dancefloor pace of his One Day record from last year, and the very-NYC sound of Incienso ala Python, Naples et al. There aren't too many Loidis records in the world, but the trademark sound is immediately clear - laser focused, sharply inventive, rhythmically-centred and underscored with a Kompakt-derived understanding of minimalism. A seductive and hypnotic pair of undercover heaters no doubt, the kind you'd happily take a full album of. While we await the next Loidis record, this fills the gap very nicely.
