Rainbow Rhythms from the Nordic sect! We've had a fair few emails about this one already, which probably speaks more to the mysterious presentation than anything else given there's very little music to access online... What we've been told: Livskraft features at least one member of Järnakollektivet (remember the 76++ unobtainable cassettes they released last year?) and these three long-form pieces were recorded at a meditation workshop with teacher, Shakti Khalsingha. Combine that biography with your knowledge of Blöd's Pilgrimssånger, the few Oroskällan LPs and the general presentation of the Gothenburg Sound Workshop, and the veil of your understanding may be lifted somewhat - i.e, folk-derived devotional musics with a quasi-religious communal ambience that walks that thin line between the sinister and the benevolent. I'm unsure whether to take this kind of thing at face value or not - am i being indocrinated into some Manson Family cult? Is Tom Cruise involved in someway? Was Midsommar real? Or perhaps we just assume it's a savvy play of sign and signifier that's working hard to shift our perceptions of the artifice of cool? Whatever the weather, there's some sprightly sad-time jangle ala Garbage and the Flower underpinning the first portion of this record that demands all prejudice is left at the door. That's all it takes to make me a believer these days. I've certainly gone further for much less. Edition of Sorry You Missed It.
