For our final release of 2022, we return to an old friend to see us out in style. L/F/D/M has previously dropped a cassette EP of tough Electro steppers and an album of Acid hardware jams on Beat Concern, but refuses to repeat himself with this 'Quasi-Modo' EP. These 4 tracks highlight the ever present influence of the hardcore rave continuum to L/F/D/M’s phenomenal output to date.
These tracks nod to that special 1992 period of hardcore, more so than any of L/F/D/M’s other hardcore releases but remain in that ‘meta-state’ of being aware of subsequent genre advancements post ’92 (where were you?)
However, these tracks (or trax?) highlight a pure love for the naivety of the pre-Jungle hardcore period. Breaks prevail, bass is weighty and the stabs hit heavy.
While Fantazia famously took us into 1992(gether), Beat Concern will take you out of 2022 like you were dancing in a field off the M25 30 years ago.
