This is punk today. And yes, that title is ironic. And this is not for the faint hearted. Just as it should be. Bonkers industrial synth punk outsider skronk and honk that, if I'm totally honest, turned me to mush this morning. My immediate thought on first listen was Lumpy Records, and lo and behold, those purveyors of today's very best scatological punk wipeouts were responsible for the release of Victor's first cassette. Though JPGRR are German and Victor hails from Israel, there's an obvious affinity with the MidWest DEVO-worshipping crew, particularly those much-missed torchbearers of obnoxious nonsense, Coneheads. I think that gives you a clear idea of what's going on here. And for the sake of context, I should probably note that your man from shop favourites Bobby Would is the brains behind Quality Music. A lot to admire here. Highly limited as per.
