Given this is released by Tom Val's label, you can expect a rough-around-the-edge quality of these recordings that belies Gorisse's classical training - there's an obvious intention to move away from the institutional to something a little looser, free-form, and, well, overtly experimental. There's an intriguing dialogic element to the positioning of sound here, with the re-recording and layering of Gorisse's playing in very subtle ways, creating a sense of intimate minimalism, the listener made privy to a private process of creating and expressing.
