Another essential collection of The Misz mastermind's wide ranging output, this time spanning an incredible 36 year period (84-present day) and taking in four different projects. The Stroom and Minimal Wave comps covered a lot of the early activity - all of which i'd lie down in the road for (any excuse) - but it's particularly great to hear that material alongside Van Den Broeke's more recent work as Canto De Mudo, which trades the glint-in-the-eye playfulness of The Misz for a dreamier, filmic quality that's as elegant as gitanes and black coffee. It's a killer set and for the size of the period it covers, it's remarkably coherent. Across all these projects and guises, Van Den Broeke remains consistent in conjuring a fantasy, imagined Europa, a dreamland of sophistication, culture, drama, romance.
