After two years out of the game, IDDB fire back up the engines and make a return visit to rural Massachusetts for release number 50. It was Idea Fire Company that first introduced the label to the world over ten years ago, and they keep the ball rolling here with another two tracks that display their very distinct take on private universe, homemade electronics. The duo's music can often be pretty and delicate, is frequently noisy and more commonly, is overtly lysergic and foggy. It's to the latter that these latest recordings most clearly speak, the kind of analog electronic tinkering that could either be the product of a seance or some personal experiment with psychedelics (lkely both) and sounds as it if was recorded through the wall that separates this world from the next. There's some affinity with the purgatorial lo-fi pop of Eyes of the Amarylis/People Skills, albeit with less emphasis on the 'pop' and with an added dose of Windy and Carl-styled alien drone and Ashtray Navigations inner world gazing. The group's previous LP was entitled Bathroom Electronics. which is highly directive of their overall approach. This time out, they might not exactly be on a Penthouse budget, but it's not hard to imagine them levitating that high in pursuit of such sounds.
