Second release from Malmö's Eternal Music Society. Two side-long improvisations recorded on January 14, 2023.
Second outing of free rock dynamics from Gothenburg's Eternal Music Society, who alongside scene veterans Andreas Johansson, Henrik Wallin and Andreas Malm also number Neutral/Leda's Sofie Herner in their ranks. If it's only Herner's work you already know, it's not a bad way in to understanding what the four are driving at here. Kraut-derived, no-wave spirited wig outs that imagine Mars transplanted to the Klangbad commune, controls set for somewhere between the heart of the sun and the inner eye. Of course, I'm overlooking a clear regional history with such a description, since the four are also clearly plugging into a neat Scandi tradition of improvised long form ala Parson Sound, Traden et al, but adding to it a more overtly expressed punk spirit that's got 80s US underground swimming around somewhere in its DNA. Just 19 minutes here, but all the right moves being made. More to come let's hope.
