Genre: Synth/Minimal Wave
Year: 1983 Dutch press
First press of the debut LP by the Dutch minimal wave forerunners, and a (perhaps THE) definitive example of the genre. Heartbreak amidst cold war paranoia, classic detached European cynicism, skeletal drum machine/sequencer/bouncing bass compositions, all the things we know and love about cold/minimal wave without any of the unnecessary histrionics or overblown melodrama that put me off a lot of the stuff that followed this ... Music for the Big Brother dystopia. The genre in its unaltered, perfect pure form. You know the drill - it's the air raid siren for the apocalypse. File alongside The Misz, Turquoise Days, SM Nurse, Nine Circles et al.
