Enchante - Mind in Camden 2

Cassette-only sequel to Enchante's much loved (round these parts anyway) Mind In Camden mini-album from 2017. If you're familiar with that, or indeed any of the Jolly Discs output, you'll find a lot to love here. Across nine tracks that oscillate between long-form beat-driven melancholia and tantalising evocative vignettes of bigger ideas that stretch their sonic palette (those mournful guitars on No One's Arms But My Own reminded me of early Mogwai of all bands), these fellas continue to build a stark and uncompromising vision of late night big city living. It's getting late so early now, and this is your soundtrack for kicking your feet round London (or anywhere) as the days turn to greyscale. Perfect for the maudlin of mind, which is funnily always how i feel when in Camden. Labels seem to mean less and less these days. Jolly Discs are here to counter that. You need everything they do, though i'd argue this, along with the RAP record, is a latest highpoint. Very limited.
