edition-dart-deploiement-de-l-immuable
Èdition d'Art - Déploiement de l’immuable

Cassette

A second arrangement of spooky undertakings from Èdition d'Art, the Berlin-based duo of Laure Boer & Franz Wrakhowitch. I'll admit to missing their first outing, a CD from 2022 also on Kashual Plastik, though it's unclear as to whether prior knowledge of the project would provide any help in deciphering the overtly strange post-noise/-industrial abstractions and mutant folk murmurings of Déploiement de l’immuable. Outside of the context of Kashual Plastik's catalogue, it's hard to know where exactly to place an act like Èdition d'Art, one of those chimerical formations that has you grasping at comparisons that don't quite fit. Perhaps there is some kinship with the more no-wave leaning aberrations of the Gothenburg scene (say Neutral, Sewer Election, Leda++), and there's some continuation of the European post-industrial (anti-?)tradition, though mostly this is the kind of DIY mash-the-buttons-and-splice-the-tape-and-see-what-happens approach to sonics and anti-formalism that really is a singular endeavour. It's for sure alien, and certainly confusing, and yet oddly addicting in it's abstruse sense of purpose. A head scratcher, and a compelling treat all the same.

FFO: Leda, Neutral, Sewer Election, Laure Boer, CIA Debutante

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0051/1380/6921/files/Editiond_Art-Deploiementdel_immuable.jpg?v=1777390383
