2-song 45 on black vinyl in risograph cover.
This is how to launch a new label. StraightouttaBerlin like a loaded gun, ... (dotx3, if you wanna know how to say it, apparently) begins life with two absolutely essential 7"s of DIY post-punk wonder. And when I say post-punk I don't mean estate agents who've just discovered Joy Division, which seems to be the current trend. I mean the proper stuff.
Current Affairs you'll likely already know for their immediately distinct Shop Assistants meets Siouxsie spin and twirl, and thus as one of the best new bands in the UK right now (and anywhere else, tbqhwy). Excitingly, this latest double A side displays a little evolution in their sound, introducing dual vocals and a little synth fizz to accompany their ridiculously perfect key changes. This lot know what they're doing, unnervingly so. It might be the best thing they've ever done, but I don't think it'll be the best thing they ever do. Hell of a band, already.
Argument? are the other side of the same coin. Where CA buzz and hiss, Argument? strut and pout. There's a lot more space in these songs, bass-driven in that Cramps-y way, but with a little more than a smattering of B-52s archness and X's surf-stylings. Yeah, i've just compared them to three of the best. Sex music for unsexy times. Give me more, please.
Very limited as you'd expect.
