7"
Excellent forthcoming split 7" featuring our beloved Cindy and relative newcomers Comber as part of the Second City Static single series which is traditionally tied to not-for-profit live shows at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow. This latest release breaks the mould a touch in that Cindy won't actually be playing a gig and the 7" itself is actually going to be available to buy in a few other places, which includes World of Echo and for which we are of course grateful for the invitation. Great initiative of course, and the tunes? Also killer - Cindy deliver a slightly coarser than usual near-spoken word fuzzy drone-pop number that makes a nod to the title track on their Swan Lake EP and hints at alternative future avenues of exploration for a band already operating at peak performance, while Comber dig into late 90s Glasgow tradition with the kind of languid, slow-core adjacent post-rock-pop that would have no doubt ignited more than a little interest at Chemikal Underground. Lovely stuff all told, and a pleasure to be able to offer out to those unable to reach their arms all the way to Scotland.
