C3TRii – s/t

Ooosh, another beauty from Max Stocklosa's ever-evolving TRjj/TRii ++ universe, this time in collaboration with the enigmatically named C3D-E... And of course there's more mystery to unravel. Six prosaically titled (mostly) instrumentals that skirt between wonky reimaginings of minimal techno, IDM quixotica, and early 90s after hours zoners that coulda been plucked straight outta the British Midlands or even the hallowed vaults of Metatone. Aside from the slo-mo nu-beatisms (ala Patrick Selinger) of closer B3, this is more suited for the nighttime skirmishes than home listening (though why not try both?). Still and as always, Stocklosa's production remains defiantly unique, taking a sideways run at conventional tropes that mostly leave you spinning or entranced. Whatever he's at, it's a class act as ever.
