It's an Ultra Eczema Triple Threat this week, which is actually a lot more pleasant than in sounds... Let's start with Kraus' A Golden Brain, originally released as a CD-r in 2004 and now seeing a vinyl reissue, something UE apparently don't usually do... Why now, then? That's for them to say, but we should be grateful for their uncovering of what is a curious blend of quixotic psychedelia, 16 bit electronics, and the krautrock-eastern musics interface of AR Machines, Popol Vuh et al. Pat Kraus originates from the NZ underground, though there's a clear affinity with Ashtray Navigations journey into the outer reaches of inner space. Imagine this plays just as well at 420 RPM. Edition of 300, long gone at source.
