Bruno Tonisi - Sensational Conversations

Wonderfully synapse melting chopped n screwed collab between producer Bruno Tonisi and cult rapper, Sensational. Collaboration might not be the right term - Tonisi is essentially assaulting Sensational's performance here, mashing it into two long form sides of lysergic trapdoors and rabbithole detours that plays like Christian Marclay and DJ Screw fell down the stairs together into the arms of Death Grips. The last time we heard Sensational was on that record with Unbuilt a year or two back, but here he's much more of spectral presence, a ghost between the lines that comes in and out of focus in the busted maelstrom. It's a total affront to the senses, disorientating, dissociative, entirely unmoored from convention, and with little sense of terrafirma. If you've ever indulged the wrong (or is it right?) powder, you might well hear something familiar here. Evil. Brilliant.
