It's been a minute since the last dispatch from the Fruits & Flowers camp, but true to form they serve up another beautifully presented 7" in the shape of the latest from Spillage Fete custodians, Bons. This is a beguiling three-tracker which covers a fair bit of ground, making shuttle runs between Eno's art pop, Flaming Tunes music box melody and Virginia Astley pastoralism. Opener STEINER draws a clear line back to its players I Can, I Can't days, a submerged MES-like vocal climbing out from behind some chiming DIY melodicism, while closer Unbearable Likeness is a delicate, nursery rhyme missive plaintively stealing tears from your eyes. Dream compositions both, but it's Paramount that really sent me into raptures, Another Green World reimagined by the angels. Best thing the label has put its name to yet, and that next Bons long player can't come soon enough!
