Here's one to get your head around - Anichy & Lyemn is the name given to a mysterious pair of tracks apparently produced in the 90s by a purposefully unidentified duo who are alleged to be well regarded in the field of minimal composition and electronic music. As far as reissues go, that's basically a license to print money (the entire £38 profit a limited run 12" affords you) ... If you can look past the predictable subterfuge of such smoke and mirrors marketing, you'll find much reason for excitement within the tracks themselves, the A side an expert survey of submerged 'Deep Blue Day' ambience with a Caretaker-like capacity for plaintive reflection and Kranky-styled compositional restraint, and the B a more vibrant post-Berlin School oscillation that spirals off into the Reichian Singularity. The two tracks don't feel entirely interconnected, but they're equally fascinating experiments that are substantial as a standalone but will also inevitably have you craving more, not least while the identity of their creators remains unclear. Park your cynicism at the door - truly an undeniable unearthing.
