First time vinyl pressing of the debut from Berlin duo I.G., originally released on cassette in August last year. Info on the pair appears fairly minimal, which are the rules when it comes to stuff like this, perfectly in-keeping with their austere cold-wave electronics and post-punk authority. Keep it shadowy, keep it threatening. Long history of this in Germany of course (a torch most recently kept burning by Aussie expats), and I.G. split the difference between minimal wave hooks, 39 Clocks style gang mentality, and the kind of magpie-like approach to 80s cassette culture that made the second Total Control album and the most recent Horrid Red record so perfect. No coincidence this first came out during lockdown - music from the war bunker, doomed but fearless.
