Canadian Blake Hargreaves got deeply into classical music and specifically the church organ as a child. When he was 11, he accidentally discovered that some of his school friends sang
in a church choir. Once, during practice at school, they belted out the kind of high notes that would turn the students’ heads and the singers’ faces red. Impressed, and encouraged by the fact that choir membership entailed getting paid, Hargreaves wanted in.
Having had piano lessons, the leap to church organ (via stints in various noise bands) was an obvious choice.
This album presents a selection of nine tracks, recorded in churches in Genova, Höchst, Den Haag, Paris, Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Frankfurt.
