Insane that this is the Homosexuals only album on vinyl, and a compilation to boot. As you'd expect, it's a rare one, packed to overflowing with rocking 'n' rambling fragile art school thrills that serves to tell its own alternative history of British punk. I'd consider them a spiritual cousin to Television Personalities, with their Kinks-inspired slice-of-odd-life observation and doomed romanticism, albeit a little more blazing. Unlike TP's Daniel Treacy (whose not exactly Mr Household Name himself), Bruno Wizard has never really been afforded the benefit of critical reappraisal, and these songs remain unduly obscured. Likely influenced more records than they sold themselves (100% Jay Reatard had been listening and taking notes). You know the type. We're in the midst of reissue nirvana right now. Why no-one has gone to town on this catalogue yet I don't know. Knocked a couple of quid off this one as the sleeve isn't immaculate. The songs remain perfect.
