Hygiene - Private Sector

Talk about timing. I've waited eight years for a follow up to Hygiene's debut album and then it lands on the day May kicks the bucket. Soundtrack to the New Shitshow signed sealed sorted. Hygiene are still pissed and pisstaking, but Private Sector is a bit of a different beast to its predecessor. Better production for sure, but also a little sonically broader - less (but still a bit) first wave, more early DEVO, still a lot of Wire. Funny this should come out the same week as DIÄT's new one, as it's possessed of the same spirit and dynamism, and I'm assuming the same reference points - aka Crisis. You really should be buying both this week. Highly recommended if you're into the current crop of great Australian punk bands, and the DEVO-worshipping US underground. From our perspective, it's great to have a band like this (back) on our doorstep. Rest of London: please take note.
