Finally finally finally! French coldwave prodigies tape-only mini-album from 1985 is at last made a little more accessible with its first vinyl pressing, and who better to do it than Camisole, the label responsible for the re-press of the band's stone-cold 7", Morning Rain/Eyes. The reanimation of the 80s European cassette underground seemed to lose a bit of a steam a year or two back - just how much was there; how vital is it all - but trust that Coldreams are the real deal. Apparently written when they were just 18, this is vital, instinctive, devoutly sincere/austere and coquettish synth-led post-punk minimalism with few rivals. No excess on its bones, all drama in its heart. Midnight music for the lonely and lusty equally, and a longtime WOE favourite. Can't recommend highly enough.
