LANDING SOON
Oakland's Marbled Eye mark a decade in the game with Forever, a six song EP/mini-album (you decide the difference) that once again sees them pair with long-time label, Digital Regress, following the release of their second album in 2024. On the other side of the world, Eddy Current Suppression Ring are currently on the comeback trail, and it's into that context that Marbled Eye make the most sense (and always have, for that matter). Their particular style of taut n tight motorik post-punk has often felt more akin to their contemporaries in Australia than the eggpunk of their US equivalents, sharp-witted and giving off the side-eye, and replete with an intensity that also speaks to their Californian heritage (the spectre of Greg Sage looms, as it always should). Ten years back, this was the defacto sound of the punk underground. And now? ECSR might be on the way back, but otherwise there doesn't appear anywhere near enough of these kind of foot-on-the-accelerator true-believers existent in the world. Marbled Eye's staying power helps fill that void.
