Glen Rey is the new solo project of Mitch Renyolds, who previously released music under the name Bluetung. While Bluetung utilised analogue synths and expansive layered production, this new record was built almost entirely around acoustic guitar arrangements; veering in unexpected inwards direction and touching on gently fractured avant-folk, meditative kosmische, and atmospheric tape music. The album was recorded at home on a tascam 4-track in early 2024, and features contributions from members of Troth, Warm Currency and Other Joe, and beautiful design by Chloe Larkin.
