Four Cindy Lee LPs steamrolling back into the world this Halloween. If you came late to the party, you'll know that catching up has been neither cheap nor easy. A shame, because these are knock out records, all the equal of Diamond Jubilee but without the 2.5 hr headline stealing run time. In succinct form, Cindy Lee is arguably better, because the songs themselves are both so emotionally and texturally rich. You don't need hundreds of songs to understand the unique world building that is on show here. You do need all of these albums, however, though if you're in a position of having to chose, my money is on Act of Tenderness as close to the best thing in the entire catalogue, a total heartbreaker of lo-fi longing and romantic disquiet that imagines black album Velvets channeled through the radio static of loneliness. And of course, Cat O' Nine Tails is the super rare one that hardly anyone in the world owns, so you might wanna check in on that one if you're a completist. No doubt these will sell out, so pre-orders highly recommended.
