And now for some Traditional Swedish Music. Soft as snow and sad inside indiepop dynanism of the kind that made Sweden the Third Biggest Music Exporter in the World (so i've been told!) back in the early noughties by way of Labrador, Service, Sincerely Yours et al. Typical Girls features members of Amateur Hour, Enhet For Fri Musik and Westkust, bands who are considerably noisier and weirder than the three tracks on show here, which just goes to show that indiepop is a compelling mistress - they just cannot resist! Though obviously tied to its Swedish past, there's also some eyes being made here at the current San Fran scene, expressing what might well be an accidental affinity with Reds, Pinks and Purples, Cindy, Umbrellas++, which you can probably tie back to Sarah and especially Even As We Speak. Ten years ago i'd had my fill of this kind of thing. Right now, i can't get enough. Say it once again: INDIEPOP WILL NEVER DIE.
