World of Echo exclusive, in conjunction with Slumberland - white vinyl, with bonus cassette.
New Tony Jay incoming courtesy of Slumberland, replete with a limited edition cassette of 17 outtakes and demos and such like, otherwise only available via Slumberland direct. As for Perfect Worlds itself, well, for our money it's easily the best Tony Jay collection to date, a gathering of downer pop confessionals and instrumental digressions from Bay Area mainstay, Mike Ramos, that imagine a kitchen sink vista of a gloomy but soon to bloom San Fran morn, from a night before of 'failed relationships, lack of sleep, bicycle injuries and depression'. Fan's of Ramos' other bands, Flowertown and Cindy, will find many of the same hallmarks present here too, of loping guitars and low in the mix melodicism, as if transmitted from a daydream or caught under the weather. Classic SF in many ways, both new and old. A continuation of a thread that never runs bare.
