The Bombscare EP is a collaboration between Minnesota slow-core pioneers Low and UK experimental duo, Spring Heel Jack. Recorded in London in 2000 after the band had driven straight from the airport to the studio, the title track imagines the thoughts of a suicide bomber moments before dying, eerily prescient of international events just around the corner. While Low's sound here remains as uniquely and distinctively theirs, forever anchored by Mimi Parker's sonorous vocal, the collaboration now seems to stand as a watermark moment in the band's history - since the turn of the century they have increasingly moved towards more adventurous production styles and influences, culminating in 2018's sonic volte face and universally acclaimed, Double Negative. Treader are now re-issuing the record for the first time in 19 years.
