We've a handful of copies of Lewsberg's latest 7", released earlier in the year and previously only available via Bandcamp. The A side is an edit of Through the Garden, a track taken from their great In The House album, again from earlier in the year, and provides a sterling reminder of the band's particularly sharp style of Velvets jangle, vaguely motorik artrocking and off kilter lyricism. The kind of song perfectly suited to the 7" format - snappy enough to be a single, knotty enough to suggest the multiple facets of a fascinating band. The B is a more sombre-toned and mysterious affair, a 90s Chicago underground oddpop nugget in miniature shot through with a sharp intelligence and a charming wholesomeness. It's that wholesomeness that is the key element here, and a characteristic of the Lewsberg sound as a whole. You see, the thing about Lewsberg, right, is that they just seem like a really lovable lot. The kinda guys you wanna see win. Self-released 'n' all, as with all of their output. DIY champions, unite and take over.
