Better Living Through Falling Pianos offers an unexpected four new songs from one of the Bay Area's most thrilling new arrangements. Attentive listeners will already know the three individuals that make up Famous Mammals from various other projects and output, though their union this year in debuting their latest act felt like an especially inspired and dynamic recalibration of DIY artpunk aesthetics. These latest recordings double down on both their Swell Maps styled abrasive experimentalism and the kind of thrilllin'-livin' glam attitude of the It's War Boys sect.
