After close to a decade out the game, Wormwood Grasshopper (remember those Drunk Elk records?) made a shock re-appearance at the tail end of 2023 with two still-trademark 7s of spirited red-line baiting lo-fi slop and awe. Cuticles you'll most recently remember for their great LP for Siltbreeze, also from 2023, and I'll admit I'm a little unclear on which came first. Considering them transmissions from the same session probably serves us best, a confluence of UV Race meets Homosexuals absurdity that draws a nice through-line from their day job as part of the Trendees (more new stuff from them soon btw) and dials the personality gauge close to 11. And if that doesn't give you enough to go on, the collaged psychedelic splurge of the front cover gets you more than halfway to the truth. Sacred Product have been kicking around a good while longer, and their two tracks on Angry Red Planet fall into the kind of lo-fi Demolition Plot J-7 territory nowhere near as many bands are traversing these days. Rare Recorder Grot melodicism and very grateful for it are we too. Bring the snarky murk! Both super limited as you might expect.
