Double LP on clear vinyl
Tom Boogizm first came to attention back in 2016 with his Posh People Make Me Ill debut released under his own name. Now mostly using the Rat Heart moniker (or some rat-based derivation thereof), he's still trotting down that same class-baiting path, as aggy as ever on what must now be something like his fifth or sixth long player. The title does the talking plain and clear, but the music hits just as hard and heavy, allying the decayed techno abstractions of Splazsh-period Actress with the icey snare snap of first wave grime, Trilogy Tapes outsider character and good old fashioned Northern obstinance. This isn't angry music, per se, but it makes no concessions nor apologies either. And why should it? The idiots have won. Taking the piss might be all we have left. Boogizm is certainly a dab hand at that, and on Ratty Rids there's more than enough evidence to prove he's the minerals to back up the mouth. Seems to be sold out at source. Another one sure to fly out the door. Maybe not all is wrong with the world, then?
